ShopAltAI came out of client work. We kept meeting the same problem from opposite directions: stores with thousands of images and no alt text, and stores with product pages so thin they never ranked.
Every product photo should carry a description — for the shopper using a screen reader, for the search engine indexing the page, and for the AI assistant that's increasingly deciding what gets recommended.
Most catalogues don't. Not through neglect, but because writing alt text and full listings for a few thousand products by hand is work nobody has time for. We're making that work take minutes rather than months.
The tools that existed each solved one piece, for one platform — usually Shopify. If your client was on WooCommerce or PrestaShop, you were back to doing it by hand.
So we built one that covers the platforms real merchants actually use, and does all three jobs — listings, alt text and store content — from a single account.
ShopAltAI is built by a small web development team. We're not venture-funded and we don't have a growth department. We build the product, answer the support email, and ship when something's ready rather than when a calendar says so.
Alt text exists so people using screen readers can shop. That it also helps SEO is a happy side effect, not the point.
AI writes drafts. You decide what goes live. We won't build a mode that skips that.
We support platforms that don't have the biggest market share because merchants use them and deserve the same tools.
