This is a working draft written to accurately describe the service as it exists today. It has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel — in particular, the billing, refund, and cancellation sections are placeholders that must be finalized before the product launches to paying customers.
By creating an account or using ShopAltAI, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
ShopAltAI is an AI-powered tool that scans websites for images missing alt text and generates alt text using AI vision models. The service is provided via our web dashboard, and — as they become available — a WordPress plugin, a Shopify app, and a script tag for other HTML sites.
You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you sign up.
Each plan includes a monthly allowance of credits; each AI generation uses one credit. Credits on subscription plans do not expire between billing cycles while your subscription is active. If you exceed your monthly allowance, you may purchase a credit pack or upgrade your plan. BYOK (bring-your-own-key) usage does not consume credits — your own AI provider bills you directly for that usage.
Paid billing is not active yet. Once launched, subscriptions will renew automatically each billing period unless cancelled beforehand, and pricing will match what's published on our Pricing page at the time of purchase. This section will be finalized alongside our payment processor integration.
Our refund and cancellation policy has not been finalized. As a placeholder position: you will be able to cancel a subscription at any time, with access continuing through the end of the paid period. Refund eligibility for partial periods or unused credits will be defined before billing goes live, and this section will be updated to reflect the final policy.
You agree not to use ShopAltAI to:
If you connect your own API key, you're responsible for complying with your AI provider's own terms of service and for any costs your provider charges you directly. We store your key encrypted and use it only to fulfill your generation requests.
You retain ownership of the images you submit and the alt text generated for them. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service to you.
The service is provided “as is.” AI-generated alt text may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete — we recommend reviewing generations before publishing, especially for sensitive or nuanced imagery. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the extent permitted by law, AS Web Technologies is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
The governing jurisdiction for these Terms will be specified here before launch.
