WordPress / WooCommerce

Install the plugin, connect with a sa_wp_ key, and generate alt text and product listings for WooCommerce.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.0 or later
  • PHP 7.4 or later

Install

  1. In WordPress admin: Plugins → Add New
  2. Search for ShopAltAI
  3. Install Now, then Activate

A ShopAltAI item appears in the left-hand admin menu.

Connect

Need a key first? See Get your ShopAltAI API key.

  1. ShopAltAI → Settings
  2. Paste your sa_wp_… key
  3. Save, then click Test connection

Success shows your plan and remaining allowances.

Using it

  • ShopAltAI → Product Generator — your WooCommerce products are listed, nothing to import or map. Tick the ones you want, click Auto Generate, then review each result in the panel and click Accept. Requires WooCommerce active.
  • ShopAltAI → Alt Text Generator — your Media Library images with missing alt text are listed. Select, generate, review, then accept. The alt text is written to the image in your Media Library, where your theme and search engines pick it up.

Only accepted results are written to your site — decline, or do nothing, and it stays untouched.

If something goes wrong

"Connection failed"

The key is wrong, expired, or was revoked. Generate a fresh one; keys can't be recovered after the first view. Check you pasted a sa_wp_… key with no stray spaces — keys for other platforms won't work here.

Plugin menu missing after activation

Check the plugin is actually active under Plugins, and that your user has the manage_options capability. Editors and authors won't see it.

Generation refused

You've used that month's allowance for that module. The error names which one. Alt text and product listings have separate allowances.

Product Generator says WooCommerce isn't active

The Product Generator needs WooCommerce. The Alt Text Generator works without it.

Generation is slow on a large batch

Generation runs on ShopAltAI's servers, not your hosting, so it won't slow your site down. Large batches simply take time.
